On June 3, 2024 local time, the ASB1 600MW booster station of China Energy Construction Saudi Arabia's Al Schumacher 2.6GW photovoltaic power station project was successfully reversed, marking that the project ASB1 has met the conditions for subsequent debugging and external power transmission, and grid connected power generation has officially entered the countdown

The Saudi Arabian Al Schumacher 2.6GW photovoltaic project is an important component of Saudi Arabia's "2030 Vision" new energy plan. The project is located approximately 80km south of Jeddah City in Mecca Province, Saudi Arabia, and includes two sub projects, ASB1 and ASB2. It covers an area of 52.54 square kilometers and is currently the largest single photovoltaic project under construction worldwide. After the completion of the project, it is expected that the total power generation will be about 282.2 billion kilowatt hours in 35 years, which is equivalent to a reduction of nearly 245 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to planting 545 million trees in the Saudi Arabian desert
