State Grid Xinyuan Shandong Yimeng pumped storage power station is fully put into operation for power generation

As the largest pumped storage power station in Shandong Province, the last unit of Yimeng power station was officially put into operation on March 23, 2022, playing an important role in ensuring the safety of Shandong power grid, promoting the consumption of new energy and improving the quality of power supply. So far, Yimeng power station has been fully put into commercial operation one year ahead of the national approved construction period. Our company provides more than 200 control panels and cabinets of four units for the project.

Yimeng hydropower station is located in Fei County, Linyi City, the old revolutionary base area, 53 kilometers away from Linyi city. The total investment of the project is 7.37 billion yuan, with a total installed capacity of 1.2 million KW. Four single-stage mixed flow reversible water pump turbine generator sets with a single unit capacity of 300000 kw are installed. The designed annual power generation is 2.008 billion kwh, and the annual pumping power is 2.677 billion kwh. It is connected to Shandong power grid with 500 kV outgoing line. The hydroproject of the power station is composed of upper reservoir, lower reservoir, water transmission and power generation system, underground powerhouse and switching station. The construction of the power station was started in June 2015. During the construction period, it will increase the financial revenue of the local government by 120 million yuan every year and provide more than 4000 jobs. After the completion of the power station, 160 million yuan of profits and taxes can be paid every year, which can greatly alleviate the pressure of new energy consumption and absorption of Shandong power grid, contribute to the realization of the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutralization", improve the traffic conditions and living infrastructure in the old revolutionary base areas, enrich tourism resources, consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and help rural revitalization.

Shandong is a province with large power demand. In 2021, the maximum power load has exceeded 88.6 million KW, the peak valley difference has exceeded 23.5 million KW, and the maximum external power received is 23 million KW. At the same time, Shandong is also a province with rapid growth in large-scale development and construction of new energy. In 2021, the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation and wind power generation ranked first and fifth in China respectively. The annual new energy power generation exceeded 70 billion kwh, and the maximum daily new energy power generation exceeded 445 million kwh.

So far, all four units of the power station have been started and stopped for more than 1000 times, generating about 380 million kWh and pumping about 475 million kwh. The operation intensity has reached the forefront of the pumped storage power station of the State Grid Xinyuan system, which has effectively promoted the consumption of clean energy in Shandong power grid, ensured the safe operation and reliable power supply of Shandong power grid, and greatly optimized the power supply structure of Shandong power grid in winter, Winter Olympic Games Play an active role in major power conservation work such as the national two sessions and contribute to the smooth realization of the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutralization".
